Aiming at the promotion of its members’ products and activities as well as at informing consumers, AMVIR organizes a series of awarded sector exhibitions.
All AMVIR exhibitions are characterized by the participation of all the representatives of each category and a great number of visitors.
Moreover, AMVIR participates in conferences-meetings related to its activities (such as the International Cars Conference organized by the Economist in the context of the Athens International Motorshow) and on interesting events, reflecting its members views.
Athens International Motor Show
Since 1995 and every two years, the Athens International Motorshow, IAM, is organised under the auspices of AMVIR. This motor show, welcoming more than 200.000 visitors, is the largest and most significant trade event in Greece in terms of consumer participation, quality of exhibits and booths and facilities size.
The basic categories of products and servicesexhibited at the show are the following:
passenger cars, electric and hybrid cars, parts, accessories, maintenance equipment and products, tires, fuel and lubricants, car audio and hi-fi, specialized computer systems, professional associations, companies related to after sales car service, banks, finance companies, insurance companies etc.
During the Athens International Motorshow, a number of important and exciting parallel events take place, such as conferences, round tables and of course test drives.
Commercial Vehicles Show
The Commercial Vehicle Show was initially organized under the auspices of AMVIR in October 2000 in the “Peace and Friendship Stadium”, marking a big success as it was thefirst accomplished Greek show for the commercial vehicles sector.
After the first show, 3 equally successful events followed, presenting all major new models, informing the professionals about new technologies and motivating the State to consider important sector matters regarding transportation.
The 4th Commercial Vehicle Show, organizedin September 2008, offered visitors a chance to take a closer look to all new light, medium and heavy trucks and buses. During that exhibition a huge variety of accessories for commercial vehicles and companies that dealwith the sector, were on display. Also, during the show, visitors had the opportunity to test drive most of the exhibited vehicles and truck drivers could take part in the popular annual Truck Festival.
In March 2003 the first Motorcycle Show was organised under the auspices of AMVIR, with more than 40.000 visitors. The 1st MotorcycleShow was the largest event ever organized inGreece regarding this sector. For the first time, all official importers – representatives of motorcycles and numerous other companies (accessories, parts, services etc), were gathered in 15.000 m2, presenting the cuttingedge developments in the industry.
After that successful first event, the 2nd Motorcycle Show was organised in March 2004. The Show was again attended by all the official motorcycle importers and relevant companies.
The 3rd Motorcycle Show took place on March 2006 and could be characterized as the most complete Show. An exhibition area of 18.000 m2 was covered once again by all the motorcycle companies. A number of impressive on road and off road test rides contributed to the success of the Show which was attended by over 50.000 visitors.
The 4th Motorcycle Show was organized in April 2007 and besides the impressive new models and the breath-taking parallel events, it welcomed more than 47.000 visitors.
The successful course of the Motorcycle Show continued in 2008 with the 5th organization, which welcomed over 60.000 visitors. All new 2008 models were on display,while the first race of the Greek Super Moto Championship 2008 took place on the surrounding area of the show
